Reusable applicators and silicone accessories are an investment — they pay off only if cleaning is consistent. The good news: a 90-second routine is enough. The mistake most people make is using the wrong cleanser or skipping the dry step.
The 90-second cleaning routine
-
Rinse with warm (not hot) water immediately after use. Don't let product dry inside.
-
Wash with mild unscented soap or a dedicated toy cleaner. Avoid alcohol-based or antibacterial soaps — they degrade silicone over time.
-
Reach internal surfaces with a soft brush or the manufacturer's cleaning tool. Plain water is not enough for applicators with internal channels.
-
Rinse again until no soap residue remains.
-
Air dry fully before storage. A closed container with any moisture left will grow mold within days.
What to avoid
-
Boiling water (warps some materials, loosens seams)
-
Dishwasher detergent (too harsh, leaves residue)
-
Bleach or alcohol solutions
-
Storing in plastic bags or airtight containers while damp
Replacement timing
Silicone accessories last 1–2 years with daily use; replace sooner if you notice tearing, stickiness, discoloration that doesn't wash off, or a persistent smell. Applicators with visible cracks or staining should be retired immediately — they can't be cleaned properly once the surface is compromised.
Storage
Store in a breathable pouch (cotton or microfiber) away from direct sunlight and other silicone products. Silicone touching silicone degrades both over time.
